Operations continued throughout the night, with the launching of the dredger, nets and rosette.
While the scientists who were on watch last night have gone to bed, those on day watch are disembarking at the Agulhas II onboard laboratory.
This morning, Laure, Frédéric and Francis are in high spirits as they comment on their observations with the binocular magnifier and microscope.

The protagonists
Francis Marsac, oceanographer and fisherman, is a researcher at IRD, coordinating the scientific operations of the Indian Ocean mission on the Saya de Malha shoal.
Laure Corbari is a researcher at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, specializing in crustaceans.
IRD researcher Frédéric Ménard specializes in marine ecosystems.
